What is fine dining?
Fine Dining is a term that is commonly associated with a traditional sit down restaurant where the guests are waited on from the table by members of staff throughout their stay. The fine dining element continues this theme but extends it to the careful consideration of the menu, quality of food, extensive wine list and surrounds, including the excellent training of the waiting staff. Les Bouviers chef-patron James Coward has an extensive career within high class French and English establishments and runs his restaurant to this fine dining standard.
Locally Sourced Ingredients
With the proximity to rural Dorset and also with Poole Harbour so close, local and seasonal produce from the land and sea are an excellent and fresh base to create the ever changing fine dining menu, which adheres to a seasonal theme and is centered around quality and taste.
A typical meal
Our "Menu Gourmand" is a set menu that provides three to four choices per course and will commence with the maitre de inviting you to a table or to study the menu in the bar-lounge or veranda. A selection of nibbles to accompany your choice of drink will be brought to you whilst you relax and decide. This is thirty five pounds with wine and drinks as an addition. Guests have often commented on the entire meal sating their appetite, often exceeding it!
Menu Surprise
James also delights when his guests entrust in his judgement and opt for the "Menu Surprise" as he has the chance to delight their palette with the freshest and most locally sourced ingredients to create an exclusive and special fine dining experience, please study a sample of the "Menu Surprise" as an indication of the quality and structure of the courses.
A la Carte
The A la Carte menu presents further options to diners and can be ordered per item per course, more in the style of a traditional menu structure.
Chef Patron James Coward has owned and operated Les Bouviers for nineteen years, relocating the restaurant to it's current location three years ago.
James' calibre in the kitchen can be attributed to his passion for cooking and his previous employment experience, which includes working in five michelin star establishments and three, two michelin star restaurants.
James has also won many accolades and prizes for his approach and execution to fine dining.
